Gambia Friendship Nursery

On a very hot African day Mummy and I visited the Gambia Friendship Nursery School.

What a magical experience it was, for both of us! As we entered the classrooms, the children sang a traditional African song of welcome, which had Mummy in tears within the first minute. Cathy and Mummy and I had taken over 160 pencil cases for the children, that had been donated by the parents of Rompers Nursery in Allerton. In a couple of the photies you can see some of the kids holding their first ever present, it was so moving to see their reactions to the gifts, and I was quite emotional as I helped to give them out to each of the children too.

During our visit we were invited to Alpha's home to meet his family and some of their friends and neighbours. We were made to feel so welcome, and I made friends with the kids very quickly.

It was both a humbling and inspirational experience that will stay with us for a very long time.

Loads of Snow!

This morning when I woke up there was lots of snow everywhere... so much snow that the car was snowed in and the roads were all covered so Mummy and I had to walk to my school.

Then it carried on snowing all day as well! By the time we walked back from school three was loads of snow!

We went to the park with Sister and Bryan and Zaky-boy and it was very beautiful, but mostly a lot of fun on my sledge.

Off To See The Wizard

One of the presents that I got for Christmas was a DVD with a nasty old witch and a lion but there isn't any wardrobe and it isn't even Narnia because actually it's We're off to see the Wizard, the Wonderful Wizard of OZ.

I hadn't seen the film before, but I knew some of the songs, and my Daddy looked after me when the nasty witch came on.

Today, as a special surprise, my Daddy took me to the Philharmonic Hall to see the film there, and the orchestra was actually playing the music for real while the film was on. It was really amazing and you could still sing along as well.

Before the film started there was a fancy dress contest to dress up as one of the characters in the film so I dressed up as Glinda who is the good witch. I didn't win, but I did get a prize which was some sweeties.

Spinning in Audlem

Today we went down to Audlem to give my Grandad his Christmas present and wish him a Happy New Year.

My Grandad has a special camera and when you take a picture it shoots some white paper out of the top, but if you keep looking at it the picture slowly appears and it's even in colour.

You have to be a very good photographer like me to use it, so I took a picture of my Grandad and even one of myself.

Grandad has some lovely friends called Kev and Val who also live on a boat with a puppy called Dawnie, who looks like a tiny little Lucy.

Val is very clever and she knows how to spin wool which is real wool and is actually from a sheep and you can tell because it smells like one. She showed me how to do it on her spinning wheel, and she even let me spin some myself and I could even keep the wool afterwards.

Later we went to the pub and I played with my friend Piper who lives there.
